London: United Press International, 1967 (08), 25,3×20,5 cm. Original photo of Yoko Ono posing with her daughter Kyoko Ono on the plinth of the wrapped lion in Trafalgar Square. During the early part of the ’60s Ono experimented with wrapping objects, echoing the work of Christo. She then proceeded, in August 1967, with wrapping one of the Trafalgar Square Lions after – surprisingly – securing permission by the police for doing so in order to shoot a film. The resulting film ‘Wrapping Piece’ -featuring the considered lost soundtrack by Delia Derbyshire (of Doctor Who fame) – has sank into obscurity with only a handful of screenings arranged since its inception. The whole event was photographed by her then husband Tony Cox. Photograph dated 3 August 1967. Agencies stamps verso along with pasted blurb.
condition: Light waviness and mild handling wear. Minor tear of 0,4cm on right extremity. Very good condition.
