May 2, 1986: Artist Keith Haring was on hand in Heritage Park to celebrate the installation of two of his sculptures. The art work was on loan to the city as part of the Mayor’s Public Art Program. Haring signed and drew figures on pieces of paper and items of clothing as he encouraged people to interact with his sculptures. “I want people to climb on it, be part of it,” he said.
