Berlin: René Block Galerie, 1964, 14,7×10,9 cm. Announcement, ‘preview’ card for Beuys’ work in the newly opened René Block gallery, predating his seminal Der Chef. The Chief action that took place in December of the same year. First Beuys card by René Block.. Interestingly between this card bearing the original spelling Beuys used for his first name as ‘Josef’ (possibly after his father Josef Jakob Beuys) and the next one, only a little while later, (Der Chef. card) Beuys finally settles into Joseph. Extremely scarce.
