Edited by Michael Gibbs – Artzien starting, according to Jan Voss, as one man’s ambition who took it as his task to observe and write about art in Amsterdam – with Harry Ruhé joining later on as associate editor. Interesting rubber stamps in a number of issues. Most text in English, some in Dutch.
An important record of a fruitful period in avant-garde art, covering extensively the Amsterdam art scene from the late seventies to the early eighties. Through reviews, presentations, opinion pieces, interviews, correspondence and original contributions we see a wide panorama. Particular emphasis is on conceptual art, performance, video art and of course Fluxus with also a special AKI Fluxfest number.
